Fostering: A Series of Questionable Decisions

Meet Amara — resident goofball, professional couch gremlin, and constant reminder that joy is loud, messy, and absolutely worth it.

Since 2020, my husband and I have been volunteering with a local animal rescue. Over the past six years, we’ve fostered over 125 cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies.

Fostering is a labour of love – sometimes of blood, sweat, and tears. But the laughter outweighs the hard moments, every time.

Kittens, in particular, are the funniest, strangest little creatures I’ve ever met. Puppies have their moments too, but kittens seem to pack more chaos per pound.

These are the stories of the ones who left their mark.
